Enjoying Your Time Inside

That Florida weather can be a little unpredictable, so if you can’t enjoy your time outside in the sunshine or you need a little break from the summer heat, we have the following for your entertainment:

  • A Smart TV downstairs in the living room and one in each bedroom.
  • We offer local channels and you can also connect your streaming services

In the cabinet adjacent to the living room we provide:

  • Books
  • Board games
  • Card games

Need to get a little work done?  There are also desks with chairs in two of the three bedrooms.

Operating A/C & Heat

Downstairs Unit
The thermostat that controls the downstairs A/C is located on the wall between the two downstairs bedrooms.  You can change the mode (heat or cool) by clicking on the symbol that appears above the temperature numbers.  Once on the proper setting, using the touchscreen drag up or down on the right side of the screen.

Upstairs Unit
The thermostat for the upstairs unit is located at the top of the stairs.  It works the exact same way as the downstairs thermostat.

Important
If you are running the A/C or heat, please keep doors and windows closed.  Should you want to open doors and windows, please turn off the unit.

In The Kitchen

In the kitchen you’ll find the following appliances:

  • Fridge
  • Gas Range
  • Microwave
  • Blender
  • Toaster
  • Coffee Pot
  • Electric Kettle

Operating The Gas Range

If you’ve never cooked on a gas range before, a few things to note:

  1. Everything cooks much faster
  2. Keep temperatures lower than you normally would on an electric range.  Meaning, if you normally cook something on medium-high on an electric range, you’ll set it to medium on the gas range.
  3. Make sure you turn off gas when finished. Gas can be dangerous if you don’t pay attention.

To operate the gas burners, push in and turn the knob to the Lighting label.  You’ll hear the gas range clicking as it attempts to light the burner.  Hold it on this position until you see the flame at which time continue to turn the dial to your desired heating level (high to low).

The oven works like any other electric oven, simply press bake and then set your desired temperature.

Don’t Forget To Bring

Your packing list will depend on the time of year and your interests.  Many guests stay with us for the nearby beaches.  If that’s your plan, don’t forget:

  • Sunscreen
  • Umbrellas
  • Beach Chairs
  • Beach Games

We do provide beach towels for your use!

If you’re in town for other attractions or to experience our great cuisine, you would need to plan appropriately.  Since many restaurants require a short walk from the nearest parking, we would recommend wearing shoes that you can comfortably walk in.

Florida weather can also be a little unpredictable so a rain jacket is an excellent idea.
